Our Company is looking for professionals to fill in the position of a PUBLISHING MANAGER on behalf of our client to manage the production and publishing function as well as the day-to-day administration of the office including logistics, coordinate designers and promotion activities.
Responsibilities
To lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive book publishing strategy.
Responsible for the coordination and administration of the entire publication process for books, including sourcing and managing relationships with external vendors (technical editors, permissions editors, indexers, designers, Manages inventory, reprints, and revisions.
To evaluating and improve processes; optimizing publishing efficiency and quality
To work with authors to make sure the substance of each manuscript is tight and engaging, that key messages are honed and highlighted, and that technical information is clear and relevant.
To maintain an exceptional high level of quality and accuracy in every book.
To use excellent writing and editing skills to help authors express their ideas clearly, concisely, and creatively, and help design a suitable narrative for their work.
To manage and establish relationships with all stakeholders: compositors, proofreaders & editors, translators, printers/book manufacturers), associations, governmental agencies, sales partners at trade fairs, partner organizations, etc.
To manages the books budget, P&Ls, and finances; meets established revenue goals.
To complete routine managerial reports
To planning and execute marketing initiatives including promotional campaigns for especially new book releases a negotiating distribution contracts and collaborating with distributors
To identifying risks, issues, and proposing mitigation measures
Qualifications
University degree in a relevant field
Minimum 2 years of managing a book program
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Impeccable writing and editing skills, familiar with writing format: MLA, APA, AMA, Chicago, Turban, and Harvard
Familiarity with design software (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.)
Experience working on scientific and technical content
Strong relationship-building skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and critical thinking
Initiative taking, self-motivated
Ability to communicate with professionals at all levels and collaborate across business lines
Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency while meeting deadlines
Ability to adapt to changing priorities
Meticulous attention to detail
